increasing use of computers in daily life, Computer technician are on demand.
But to reduce the dependency
on
computer technician , one need to know about basic of
computer maintenance.
Computer Technician Program (CTP) is
developed with the same objective. By using which even a 8th std.
Student with little knowledge of English can able to assemble, operate and
maintain his own computer.
Area Of application:
1) Self-employment prospect. He can take orders for Computer Assembly,
maintenance, trouble-shooting etc.
2)
Skills of the employers can be upgraded (Job enrichment) for taking
responsibility of maintaining Computers in their firm.
3)
Similarly course will be useful to peons/Clerks in the school.
4) Home
users for maintaining their own computers.
Language: Marathi, Hindi and English
Content: Part I: Hardware And Assembly ( 2 C.D’s) This C.D contains
following:
Introduction to Computers: Computer its uses,
functions, Applications
Outer Parts: Learn to recognize external parts and
their functions.
Inner Parts : To learn to
recognize internal parts and their functions.
Assembly: You will actually do the assembly on the
screen of Computer by Drag and Drop method. All about connectors and cables get
covered.
Preparing Computer for Use: To learn different
Commands, Partitioning, Formatting, Windows Installation etc. You will actually
do all these activities on computer Screen.
Assembly
demonstration C.D: This will show you, step by step Video of assembly to give
you complete idea about assembly.
CTP
Part II : It will help you to learn following :
Introduction to DOS: Importance of DOS, Simple DOS
commands their uses
Windows: Introduction to Windows and its different
applications. Introduction to functions like Save, Copy,
folder etc.
Viruses: What is Virus, How to remove it?
Precautions
Functioning Of Computer: Boot up Process,
Configuration of Computer, Functioning of different
parts of Computer
CTP
Part III : Fault finding & Repair To identify hardware/software fault,
BIOS, Control Panel, Device Manager, Conflicts, Windows help, Common problems
and remedies etc
Educational
Philosophy : Based
on Vigyan Ashram's proven "Natural System of
Learning" i.e "Learning while Doing"
Features : The
program will continuously guide the student through out the program to actually
do different things on computer screen. Student will learn in simulated
environment.
Evaluation : Program will evaluate student
while he is going through the program. He will keep its record and after
successfully completion of program he will give him certificate.
Additional
Features : Learning disability
tests, Color blindness and hearing difficulty with D.E.S-I C.D’s. This will help to recognize the learning disability
at early stage. This will help to recognize the learning disability at early

This program was tested on rural dropouts and found
to deliver the results.
Certification : Based on the certificate and
evaluation report generated by the computer, student will able to appear for
the examination. Examination will be on line and practical.

Conducting
course using CTP CDs
Management :
1) The center which need
to start the course, should need at least 1 computers. They should have at
least 1 cabinet for assembly of computer. Cabinet includes Mother board, sound + Video card, RAM, HDD. Other parts like
monitor, keyboard, mouse, FDD, CD ROM can be used from some other computer.
2) No formal qualification for the instructor is
needed but he should take the course himself, to become Computer Technician , himself. Practical training for such
instructors will be conducted by Vigyan Ashram.
3) Student will first take the course through the
C.D ROMs only. After going through the lesson completely and when he will be
given evaluation report generated by the program, he will be given assembly kit
for actually practical. Instructor will work as facilitator. He will be along
with the student while he is doing actual assembly for the first time. He will
guide him if needed by suggesting to refer particular topic in the C.D.
Second
attempt student will do it himself.
4) Student can always put his question over e-mail
to Vigyan Ashram. Replies to such question will be
hosted on web site.
5) After successful completion of practical and C.D
lesson, student can appear for the on line exam, followed by practical exam at
the center.
